Eight

9:46
My head is buzzing with the sound of screaming infants, reunited relatives, bitchy mothers, and south Louisiana ebonics.
Needless to say, my head hurts.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving. Casey and I ventured to Monroe to go to my family gathering and of course, I ate until my stomach felt like it was going to explode. Then we went to Casey's moms and I ate even more. It's so strange for me to have to attend more than one Thanksgiving gathering. I've only had to go to one my entire life, and now that Casey and I are a package deal I have to go to his family's too. Weird. I'm so used to eating until I burst then going home and napping. Not this year...or I guess last year too.
But anyway, I think we are going to start out Christmas shopping today. Unlike the millions of people that will brave the crowds all over this country to get good deals...I would much rather pay the few more dollars to not have to deal with the hustle and bustle. I can't stand being rushed while I shop. I like to take my time and really analyze what I want. So, I'm doing most of my shopping online.
One thing I know for sure that I'm incredibly excited about...I'm getting my very own Christmas tree! My very own. I'm so excited.
I freaking love Christmas! Everything about it, the smells, the spirits, the parties, the food...oh, and the gifts! Anywho, I think I'll pretend to do some work now. Until later.
Yours always.

Seven

7:37am
Hello again, my friend.
It's been a while.

Yes, yes, I know...I've been busy!
Trust me, it's not you...

it's me.

But in all seriousness. I have been (kinda) busy. I've been working and getting ready for the holidays.
I've decided what I'm getting Casey for Christmas. You know, I'm really glad that no one else knows about this blog. I feel like this is my secret hiding place where I can say anything I want without anyone hearing. (or reading, I should say)
Even though, I have very few followers on any other blog...my family and friends could read it if they wanted to.
But not this one. This is my secret.
Anyway, I've gone off on a tangent. For Christmas, I'm getting Casey a racquet, Wii Sports resort, Batman Arkham Asylum, a necklace and tshirt from Urban Outfitters, and a tennis bag.
I think that sounds like a good list of stuff, don't you?

I'm asking for pretty simple things. I want a trip to the eye doctor for new contacts and glasses. I'd like a trip to the salon for a new haircut and color. And I'm asking for a straightener. Those are the major things. There are a few other odds n' ends but that's the big stuff. Pretty easy, huh?

Well, as for today, it's been a regular day so far. Except for the fact that I woke up having an asthma attack. LAME!
I really should go to the doctor and get it checked out. What if I don't really have asthma? What if it's a lot worse than I thought? Oh well, can't worry about that until I have the health insurance to back it up.

I turn twenty-one in a little less than a month and a half.
...yeah.
I'm getting old!

Anyway, enough for now. Until later.
Yours always,
Sarah.

Today I appreciate my blessings.

I saw a woman at work today who was obviously a cancer patient. She was very thin and, from the looks of it, had just undergone chemotherapy. Her eyes were hooded and she wore a scarf on her head. I almost was ashamed that I was wearing my hair down.
You know, it really is pathetic on my part that it takes physically seeing someone less fortunate to make me realize my blessings.
I have everything in the world I could ever want my health, my family, my significant other, my friends, my job, my dreams.

Today I want for nothing.

It's shaping up to be another slow day at work. Woohoo!
Yesterday after I got off work Casey and I went to Monroe. We went to look at tennis racquets and then made our way to the mall. We ate and then mosied on down to the MAC counter. And yes, Casey bought me a little happy. A little happy in the form of MAC's Prep+Prime skin base. Oh yes! It's fan-freaking-tastic! My skin feels like butter...topped with silk! Ha, anywho...I'm not sure what's going on today. I'm probably going to have to go to the grocery store later...

Grocery List

Face wash
Chicken breasts
Green beans
Corn
Rice
Instant oatmeal (Apples & Cinnamon)
Baby carrots

Ok, well I've looked up some healthy recipes...now I guess it's just if Casey will eat them or not. Until later.
Yours always.

All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good weekend.
Friday night, Katie and I bought some cheap champagne and got a little sloshy, as planned. We ended up going out to a coworkers house and hanging for a bit, then we went over to Quincy's and enjoyed ourselves a little more. ;)
And, like planned, I was just drunk enough to fall asleep with ease.
Saturday I had some me-time during the morning and later in the afternoon my friend Sarah and I went to Shreveport. We ate lunch and went to Ulta where they were having a lovely sale on OPI nail polishes. It was a buy two, get two so Sarah and I each picked out two polishes and basically got two for the price of one. SWEET DEAL! I'm pretty sure one of the polishes called "Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees" is my new signature color. It's the darkest charcoal color I've ever seen. It's the greyest you can get b

efore you get to black. I LOVE IT! I can't quit staring at my nails.
Anyway, Casey came home around 7:00 Saturday night and I had dinner waiting for him.
I was so happy to see him, it was stupid. This morning I woke up to go to work and found a new pair of pajama pants with a really sweet note from Casey. He had bought a pair of the same pants before he left and was raving about how soft they were, so last night while I was sleeping he went and bought me a pair. He also bought me a copy of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" on dvd. He really is the sweetest man.
Haha, oh man, one of the breakfast hostess', Mrs. Nancy, is the sweetest old lady. She's really tall and LOVES to talk! Man, but she is a hoot! We were just gossipping about guests and whatnot. I think I'm steadily becoming her favorite. Anywho, I think now that I have debriefed you about my weekend, I'm going to continue time wasting at work. Until later.
Yours always.

12:32
It's been an INCREDIBLY SLOW day at work. Not much else to say. Only an hour and a half left to go! I think Casey and I may go to Monroe later to look at tennis racquets for him. Until later.
Yours always.

All work and no play makes Sarah a dull girl.

I'm at work. Again. Today I had oatmeal and some turkey sausage for breakfast. Healthy and delicious! I really do have to start losing weight. It's getting out of control. I really want to go back to that weight loss place again. But everything costs money! If I can just get off my butt and get in the habit of working out daily I'll be made in the shade!
I'm thinking about dying my hair brown. I'm just completely bored with it. I've had the same long, blonde, layered, side-swept bangs hair-do since...well it's been forever. I think I was a sophomore in high school the last time I had a different haircut. It's time for a change! Casey really thinks that I would look good with dark brown hair...but I have to admit...BLONDE IS MY SAFETY NET! We'll see...
I'm pretty excited, my friend Carrie has moved back to Monroe for a couple of months so I'll get to see her more often which is awesome! Katie and I vowed to get toasty tonight so we may end up going to Enoch's and meet up with Carrie. If not, we'll be at the good ole' downer. I just know that I'm getting drunk! I need it! It's been a very, very LONG week! Well, I think I'm going to go look at hair color now. Until later.
Yours always.

12:41
Casey is coming to visit me at work. I'm ready for him to get here and relieve some of my boredom! This is going to be the first weekend that we've spend apart since before we started dating. I'm going to miss him, to say the least. I know it's only a weekend, but when you're the one staying home and not going off to do something fun, it can get really lonely. And I don't know what it is, but whenever I have to sleep away from Casey, I can't sleep at all! Like when I have to go stay at my parents or something...not a wink! Good thing Katie and I are going out tonight. Hopefully I'll just get so drunk that I'll pass out and not have to think about him not being there. Oh well, I'm going to continue to peruse the web now. Until later.
Yours always.

Days off are the best.
End of story.
Moving on.

Casey and I built a fort last night in the living room of blankets and chairs. It was the most fun thing we have done in a while. We had such a fun time sitting in the fort watching Dave Chapelle stand-up and just hanging out. I love that man more than anything, but things have been hard with us in the past few months. The money situation hasn't been helping either mine or his moods or thoughts. But it really seems that things are looking up for the two of us. Now that he's working at the shop too, he can double down on his bills. And now that I HAVE a job, he's not 100% supporting me.

So, I think my agenda for the day will be to perfect my cover of "Black and Gold" by Sam Sparro, and maybe to hang with Jellybean when she gets off work. Until later.
Yours always.

One

Well, here is the first edition in many yet to come. I'm sure this blog will transform into a landfill where I dump all of my thoughts about random things, important things, unimportant things, funny things, sad things, all things.

For starters, I'm at work and I'm bored. Well, at least I have a job now. I am just on the opposite side of being unemployed for a month or two. Let me tell you something, it's not fun. Sure, sitting around and being a bum is always fun...but having to be finacially dependant is not. But anywho, this is my second day OFFICIALLY out of training! I trained for two weeks (which included Grambling homecoming, I might add) and now I am officially a front desk person. Yay! Ha, it'll pay the bills. But really, I know I joke about it, but I really, kind of like working in the hotel business. I like people. I like interacting with people and making them happy. Like earlier today, and older man thanked me for making it "feel like home." It was really quite nice. Until later.
Yours always.

I must have this.

ONLY AN HOUR AND A HALF LEFT TO GO!!! Thank goodness. Today has been a very slow day at work for yours truly. I'm kind of bummed out, Katie and I were trying to go to New Orleans this weekend and we both have to work. LAME! Her sister just moved there and we were going to go down and just take a weekend and let loose. Plus, Casey is going to Lake Charles to play in a tennis tournament so I'm going to be by myself all weekend...oh well. There will be other weekends. I still can't wait to get off and take a ride. Today is such a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, it's about 75 degrees...it doesn't get much better. Until later.
Yours always.
